"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." - Margaret Mead "In the rush for justice it is important not to lose sight of principles the country holds dear." - Kofi Annan "In matters of truth and justice, there is no difference between large and small problems, for issues concerning the treatment of people are all the same."- Albert Einstein "What's the use of a fine house if you haven't got a tolerable planet to put it on?" - Henry David Thoreau "For the times, they are a changin'." -Bob Dylan "If you think you're too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito in the room." - Anita Koddick

Radical Choir

Started in February 2008, this is a choir dedicated to raising our voices together about important local and global issues such as those relating to social justice, peace, environment, poverty, and building community. By doing so, we hope more people will add their voice to the growing movement of people demanding and working towards a better world. We hope to engage and inspire people through the wonderfully accessible medium that is song. Rehearsals are Sundays from 3-5 pm, usually every week at the Waterloo Lutheran Seminary chapel (great acoustics!) on Wilfrid Laurier University Campus. It’s at the intersection of Bricker and Albert, on the southwest corner of Laurier Campus. Come in through the wrought-iron double glass doors.

KW Urban Harvester

is a project dedicated to turning our Urban landscape into something that is beautiful, sustainable, and of course edible.

Starting early this spring we will begin growing organic crops in any piece of Urban soil we can legally use. We want to turn useless lawns in the Waterloo Region into bountiful sources of life and nutrition. For gardening space, we rely on donated plots of land from generous people who might want a garden in their backyard but who may not have the time, ability, or resources to garden it themselves. We also rely on volunteers to keep the project running! We are funded by LSPIRG (Laurier Student’s Public Interest Reserach Group) and through the Community Environmental Improvement Grant from the City of Kitchener.

Random Acts of Kindness in KW (RAKinKW)

The purpose of this group is to promote awareness for our newly created organization at Laurier which is supported and associated with LSPIRG. It is our goal to give back to our community as well as our school in any ways possible. We will run events that meet any needs within our community or help out at special events within our own school. You don’t need any special talents or skills to help out with this organization, just a heart willing to serve and an outward looking attitude. We need to make our time in university the best experience as possible and we are inviting you to join in with us to make the world around us a little bit better!

Laurier 4 Palestine (L4P)

We are a Student run group on WLU campus.
Our goal is raising awareness about the Palestinian issue and educating students and the community using truth as our source of information. We represent the

voices of the Palestinian people – those who cannot speak for themselves. We also want to make a difference in the way propaganda in the media works against

the truth in the Middle East.
